Tallinn – Monte-Carlo Electric Marathon 2011

Exotic Cars Club gave support in the development of cooperation between European regions and countries to promote modern technologies and environmentally friendly solutions.An 80 year old edition of the Estonian newspaper Vaba Maa writes: “25th of January 1930 will see an automobile Star Race head from Tallinn to Monte Carlo. 28 cars will be setting off from Tallinn, only one of which is Estonian. The rest are coming from abroad. The start of the race is to be given in front of the Estonia Concert Hall.”

Unfortunately, the beautiful and exciting tradition came to an end when Estonia was separated from the rest of the world by the Iron Curtain. However, in the light of 2011, with collective enthusiasm the historic rally saw it’s revival. The new format demonstrates the consistency of tradition and cooperation
between European regions and countries in promoting modern technologies and environmentally friendly solutions.

Patronized by H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, the race, addressed to the curiosity of the public, was set to increase the trustworthiness of electric cars and speed up their appearance in the market, thus promoting the use of environmentally friendly energy sources.

We, the Exotic Cars Club also played an import role in providing some of the enthusiastic competitors with Tesla electric cars with regards to our partners. The marathon took of on the 2nd June 2011, to cover 8 countries, 27 cities and 3500 kilometres of emission free route to become an annual event accredited by the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile
